Sept 30th Open House Smashing Success

Though the day brought rain and high humidity, well over 100 community members, program partners, friends and supporters came to The PDF Center for Peace and Justice on September, 30th to celebrate creating community and the work of EarthAction, The Prison Birth Project, Voice Male and the Peace Development Fund.

With a wide array of good food and drink attendees wandered around The PDF Center for Peace and Justice meeting with Board and Staff of the four organizations.  A short program followed where highlights of our work were shared and the theme of community resounded.  To read more about Finding Community in Amherst check out this article by Rob Okun of Voice Male - Finding Community.

As one attendee stated - "Thanks, Tony, for a great get-together and for opening my eyes to what you folks are doing. I came aware of Lois' and Rob's work, and found so much more! It was great to connect with folks from your several in-house groups, and also to meet & chat with others I've met in other specific milieus but have never heard of what their interests are outside of those contexts. So, again, thank you for holding such an event!"

We would like to thank everyone who attended and the following local businesses for their kind support:

Amherst Wines & Spirits

Souper Bowl

Roadhouse Cafe

The Loose Goose Cafe

Panda East

Portabella Fine Foods & Catering

The Henion Bakery
