Community Organizing Grant Application

Application Deadline – Our FY 2010 deadline is now closed.  Please check back later in the year for our FY 2011 deadline dates.  (March 5, 2010 was the deadline for the FY 2010 grant docket.)

Special Guidelines for This Docket - we will only be accepting grant applications from groups based in the US and its territories.  Organizations must have a budget size less than $250,000 and be engaged in community organizing work for social justice.  Grants will we awarded in late June 2010.  Use the below application form only, previous versions or non PDF application forms will not be accepted.  The maximum grant size for this docket will be $5000.

Geographic Scope - For this docket, PDF will accept applications from organizations based in the United States and its territories.

Languages Accepted – PDF only accepts applications in English.

Grant Size - $5000 - $10,000

How to Apply – The Community Organizing Grants Docket is PDF’s open grant making docket. Any organization that fits PDF’s guidelines is eligible to apply for a grant. Below you will find PDF’s Grantmaking Guidelines and Application Form. Please read them carefully before applying for a grant. Grant applications are accepted via e-mail.

Grant Making Process - PDF takes seriously its responsibility to give each potential grantee due consideration. A member of the Screening Committee, that decides which applications will be invited into the grant-making docket, reviews all applications. All applicants will receive notification whether or not they will be invited into the grant-making docket. PDF receives hundreds of applications for funding each year from many worthy organizations. Unfortunately we are unable to fund every group. Within the constraints of our resources, we believe our grant-making process is as fair as we can make it while staying within our mission to fund peace and social justice organizations. PDF may require potential grantees to submit additional/clarifying information or be party to a phone interview by PDF Staff or Board.  All grant decisions are made by the Board of Directors.

Questions – If you have any questions about PDF’s grant-making process or application, e-mail us (grants [at] peacefund [dot] org) and a staff member will get back to you.
