Trafficking in persons is the illegal recruitment, transport, and / or sale of human beings into all forms of forced labor and servitude including sexual exploitation and forced marriage. Of these victims, 80% are female and 50% are children. The occurrence is tragic and unacceptable.

TenThousandMeans was established in 2009 to bring about awareness of this issue through varied artistic involvement and locality support.

TenThousandMeans has partnered with human rights organizations worldwide with proven commitments toward and gains in this arduous fight.

And we fully believe that the strength of our creative community is best exemplified by our actions, with dignity and with humanity, in the interest of our shared and common good. We do this together. We do it today.

TenThousandMeans is an advocacy organization acting in partnership with the global charities most proactive in the rescue and rehabilitation of the children and young women victimized by abduction and forced labor in all its forms.

TenThousandMeans is dedicated to the promotion of these noble efforts and the procurement of working capital on behalf of these agencies. We do this through benefit production and individual donation, as well as the attainment of corporate and foundational support. We leave no stone unturned.

It is therefore the mission of TenThousandMeans to cast the brightest light, not only on the tragic circumstance of 21st Century Slavery and its human affect, but also on the remarkable work done by those who steadfastly stand against.

By working to stop the trafficking of all people and especially women and children, TenThousandMeans is moving forward a movement for peace and social justice.  The Peace Development Fund is proud to be able to support the work of TenThousandMeans through our Fiscal Sponsorship Program.
