PDF 2018 Grant Applications Published on November 30, 2017

The Peace Development Fund is pleased to announce 2018 Community Organizing grant applications are now being accepted. Applications are due January 12, 2018.

In addition, a new grantmaking initiative of PDF begins December 4, 2017. The Pioneer Valley Community Advised Fund will support grassroots efforts of communities working towards social justice in the Valley (Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties in Massachusetts). In the spirit of elevating and advancing a movement moment, the Fund seeks to support groups that wish to collaborate with other local groups.
WHAT IT WILL FUND:
  • Groups looking to build the momentum in the movement towards justice by working collaboratively with another local group.
  • Groups building their infrastructure to support movement sustainability.
  • Groups demonstrating innovative ways to share resources with other local organizations.
The funds can be used to support a collaborative project, event and/or the opportunity to share resources. Funds from this grant can be spent on program and organization space; project salaries and/or stipends; program development and expenses; peer training; leadership development; skills development; and shared equipment. This may include computer software or hardware, capacity building trainings, skills development for emerging leaders, joint actions, etc.
This initiative does not fund organizations that have budgets of more than $150,000; groups not based in Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties; organizations that are looking for help with a singular event or conference; or that offer social services not linked to a clear organizing strategy. The average grant size is $1,500. Applications are due January 5, 2018.
