PDF regards fiscal sponsorships as a natural extension of our mission and program, and we work with almost 50 fiscally sponsored groups.
We extend the legal framework which allows small and emerging grassroots groups to carry out their work without the burden of managing donations and other tax exempt requirements. Some groups stay in this format indefinitely; others grow from here and become their own entities. Some are international, others very local. All raise their own funds, manage their own programs and operate in a tax exempt manner, under the legal and management structure of PDF.
PDF hosts these fiscally sponsored projects as part of our commitment to serve the social justice movement, offering grants, training and other resources to communities and grassroots organizations, building the long-term movement for social, economic and environmental justice, human rights and democratic principles. We work locally, think internationally and act strategically to help people in struggle. Our fiscal sponsorship program reflects those commitments and principles.
