Pioneer Valley Community Advised Fund

“We Are In This Together” (new grant cycle will open December 1)

Peace Development Fund is pleased to announce a new grantmaking initiative in the Pioneer Valley of Massachusetts.

The Pioneer Valley Community Advised Fund will support grassroots efforts of communities working towards social justice in the Valley (Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties). In the spirit of elevating and advancing a movement moment, the Fund seeks to support groups that wish to collaborate with other local groups.

  • Groups looking to build the momentum in the movement towards justice by working collaboratively with another local group.
  • Groups building their infrastructure to support movement sustainability.
  • Groups demonstrating innovative ways to share resources with other local organizations.

The funds can be used to support a collaborative project, event and/or the opportunity to share resources. Funds from this grant can be spent on program and organization space; project salaries and/or stipends; program development and expenses; peer training; leadership development; skills development; and shared equipment. This may include computer software or hardware, capacity building trainings, skills development for emerging leaders, joint actions, etc.

Organizations led by the constituents most affected by the issues being addressed. Special attention will be given to organizations led by people of color.

Groups from Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties in Massachusetts.

Organizations with budgets less than $250,000.

As this is a new initiative, we anticipate grant size to be $500 to $3,000.

Online applications will open December 1, 2019 and will be due January 21st, 2020 by 5 p.m. EST.
