Statement On Gaza and Southern Israel Published on October 18, 2023

The Peace Development Fund was founded by peace activists, organizers and donors working to end the threat of nuclear war and to uphold human rights in the US and around the world.  The outbreak of war that began last weekend in Southern Israel and the Gaza Strip, is devastating in a region that has suffered so much for so long, and which goes against the heart of PDF’s mission in the world. Our hearts break for both Palestinians and Israelis impacted by this tragedy.

PDF stands for peace, human rights, and a just civil society.  We recognize that the Middle East story is nuanced and complex, we do not pretend to have the ‘answer’, but that does not mean we stop searching for a peaceful and just resolution to this long-running, difficult conflict, led by those most directly impacted by the reality on the ground, both Palestinians and Israelis.
