Reframing Philanthropy Session Two: The Solidarity Economy
January 24 @ 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm
Featured Speaker: Aaron Tanka, Executive Director of Boston based Center for Economic Democracy.
Join us for a discussion about the solidarity economy, and the role of donors within it. Solidarity economies redistribute power and resources to those who have been most affected by various oppressive systems — and aim to meet immediate material needs of a community.
How can practices of grassroots democracy help to build a world beyond capitalism? How can grantmaking fit within this framework?
Aaron Tanaka is a Boston based community organizer, grant maker and investor.
