In addition to the grantees being youth-led, the grant distribution committee members were youth aged 18 to 25 years old.

Queer Youth Assemble co-founder Esmée Silverman shared “[being selected] has given us a breath of fresh air.  Because of this grant, we’re able to do so much more with our events, branding, and people recognizing us as an organization. We’re really able to sustain ourselves for the next couple of months.”

The Peace Development Fund’s mission is to build the capacity of community-based organizations through grants, training, and other resources as partners in human rights and social justice movements.
