More Ways to Help
Using resources to support social change:
Social change is not something that happens overnight. It requires people who are committed and take actions that are in alignment with the change they want to see occur. It means investing time and resources in what you believe.
Stock donations
By giving stock, bonds or mutual fund shares that have increased in value since you acquired them, you may avoid paying capital gains on the appreciated value and make a larger gift to PDF. If you itemize on your federal tax return, you may claim a charitable income tax deduction up to 30% of your adjusted gross income for such gifts and carry the excess forward over the ensuing five years. Charitable IRA rollovers
Are you 70 ½ or older? If so, a Charitable IRA Rollover could be an excellent way to support the river without having to pay income taxes on the money. The SECURE Act increased the MRD (Minimum Required Distribution) age from 70½ to 72. The age for a Qualified Charitable Distribution (QCD), however, remains at 70½. Learn more.

Celebrate others
Recognize someone special who strives for a peaceful and just world. Commemorate a birth, a new union, an anniversary or a holiday with a gift to PDF. Memorialize the memory of someone special who is no longer with you in this life. When you provide us with contact information, we’ll send a greeting to the person or their family to announce your thoughtful gift.
Insurance policy beneficiary
Donors may make PDF a beneficiary of a life insurance policy—one that no longer servers its original purpose, one that names PDF as a contingent beneficiary, or one purchased specifically to benefit PDF.
Employer matching gifts
Many companies offer employees a matching gift benefit that, in effect, could actually double, sometimes even triple your gift to PDF. Companies have various methods by which you can submit your matching gift request: online forms, automated phone systems or a paper form that you submit to PDF. Contact your company’s human resources officer or web site to find out more. To see a list of companies that have a matching gift program, click on the link below.
