The Foundation Officer, based at the PDF Center for Peace and Justice in Amherst, Mass., will be responsible for PDF’s Donor Advised Funds program; assist in capacity building for grantees through The Sustainability Project; and engage in fund-raising for PDF programs.

Above responsibilities include:

  • Articulating PDF’s organizational vision to potential donors and others.
  • Working with donors and potential grantees to identify strategic funding interests and opportunities.
  • Collaborating on the organization and implementation of special events.
  • Grantwriting, sponsorship and corporate giving
  • Providing training to grantees on fund-raising, financial management and board development.

Qualifications: 

  • BA (required), MA (a plus)
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in fund-raising and/or non-profit administration
  • Demonstrated excellence in organizational, managerial and communication skills (including social media and teaching experience)
  • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge (or other donor management software), and Microsoft Office to include Excel, Powerpoint and Word
  • Experience working with diverse staff and Board

The successful candidate will have demonstrated capability to work well with others; flexible ability to move between disparate tasks, responding to competing requirements within job functions; be self-directed, team oriented, patient and hard-working.  Spanish and/or French fluency a plus.  This position reports to the Director of Communications and Outreach, and is based in Amherst, Mass. It is a full-time, exempt position requiring flexibility and includes working evening and weekend hours, with the ability to travel overnight and out of town to provide workshops and trainings.

Timing and Salary:

This position is full-time (40 hours/week), and available beginning September 1, 2018.  Salary commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits include healthcare and 3 weeks’ vacation in first year.
